This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior communications professional who wants to work in an innovative national charity enabling community-led transformation for nature and communities to thrive together. Specifically, we are looking for someone with a passion for social justice, equity, environmental conservation and stewardship, climate action, and Indigenous authority and cultural resurgence.
Are you a self-motivated, adaptive, and quick learner who is looking for fulfilling work in the non-profit sector with supportive colleagues and a flexible work culture? MakeWay is looking for a Communication Specialist to join our team. In this role you will manage content for our organization’s website, provide writing and copyediting support, coordinate social media activities and email campaigns, and other communications support as required. As part of a highly collaborative Communications team, you will work with teams across MakeWay to help activate storytelling about our partnerships and impact.
MakeWay builds partnerships and solutions to help nature and communities thrive together. We are made up of two legal charitable entities: MakeWay Charitable Society, a shared platform home to over 65 innovative community-led projects staffed by 150 change makers; and MakeWay Foundation where about 70 people are advancing place-based programs that support Indigenous-led solutions and conservation in the North, Pacific, Manitoba, and beyond via grant-making, funder collaboratives and other tools. Our people, projects, and partners are based across the country.
