Intake Coordinator – Connecting Women with Scarborough Services
Connecting Women with Scarborough Services, a project of MakeWay, is an alliance of agencies working together to connect women identified persons experiencing gender-based violence (GBV) to services. We conduct GBV mobile clinics in community hubs located in different Scarborough neighbourhoods. The CWSS Intake Worker position will perform intake at three of our five mobile clinics as well as strengthening relationships with other partners in the hubs. Confidentiality is key in this role.
This person in this role will assist in the provision of referrals, information and crisis counselling to women seeking GBV services in Scarborough. In addition, the person in this role will also provide information to women about the availability and location of CWSS clinics and the services provided at these clinics. The purpose of this position is to support marginalized women to overcome barriers to freedom from violence and strengthen the community. The successful candidate will also raise awareness in these communities about gender-based violence.
