Project Director – Coalition for Action on Toxics
Are you an experienced collaboration builder with fundraising experience who is self-driven and works well independently? Are you passionate about the environment and a just Canadian society? Are you committed to strengthening legislation to reduce exposure to harmful toxics that affects Canadians and the environment? Do you enjoy coordinating others to achieve results? If so, this position is for you.
The Coalition for Action on Toxics (CAT), a project on MakeWay’s shared platform, is an NGO-funder collaborative established in 2016 to address the need for better toxics legislation and policies in Canada. The project was originally conceived as a three-year project that would bring together environmental and health focused organizations and funders that share a passion for reducing exposure to harmful toxics to share resources and launch a collective campaign. The collaboration is now entering a new phase to make further progress on legislative changes and engage the health community and is looking for a dynamic individual to fill the role of Project Director.
The successful candidate will provide leadership to the collaboration, including supporting the development of strategic vision and relationships, stewarding current funder relationships and undertaking new fundraising to grow the project, coordinating grantmaking within a pooled fund model, work planning and budgeting, program evaluation, and strong administrative management. The Project Director will work to continue to engage and coordinate existing NGO and funding members of the collaborative, as well as build new partnerships with health-focused organizations and funders.
