RFP: Festival Coordinator – Jane’s Walk Toronto

Jane’s Walk, a project on the MakeWay shared platform, is an annual festival of free, community-led walking conversations inspired by Jane Jacobs. Jane’s Walks encourage people to share stories about their neighbourhoods, discover unseen aspects of their communities, and use walking as a way to connect with their neighbours. The 15th Annual Jane’s Walk Festival takes place on May 7, 8, & 9, 2021 in Toronto and hundreds of other cities around the world.

The Jane’s Walk Steering Committee is issuing this Request for Proposals: the Jane’s Walk Toronto Festival Coordinator leads our local festival programming each year. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to explore ways of strengthening connections and sharing knowledge about our communities while keeping each other safe. The 2021 Toronto Festival Coordinator will tackle the challenge of bringing Jane’s Walk to life online and in socially distanced settings.

The scope of work involves community outreach, digital engagement, and grassroots event promotion. We’re looking for an individual, team, or organization with a track record of building collaborative relationships and strong know-how around organizing, inspiring, and enabling others to do great work in their communities.
