Northern Program Specialist

MakeWay is looking for a new team member who is a facilitator of social, economic, and environmental solutions for northern people and communities. The Northern Program Specialist provides direct operational support and advice to a northern portfolio of environmental stewardship, social justice, and cultural revitalization projects. The Specialist also coordinates the implementation of granting portfolios and maintains relationships with funders, communities, Indigenous and public governments, and other partners.

The Northern Program Specialist is first and foremost a central support hub for all MakeWay’s Northern Program initiatives and projects. They are a facilitator of solutions that make sense for MakeWay and the people of the North. This position reports to the Northern Program Manager based in Yellowknife, and receives additional direction from the Director, Shared Platform based in Vancouver.
