The IPCA Innovation Program seeks to establish Indigenous protected and conserved areas across Canada to build capacity, mobilize knowledge, and facilitate Indigenous-led conversation and stewardship initiatives.The IPCA Innovation Program seeks to establish Indigenous protected and conserved areas across Canada to build capacity, mobilize knowledge and facilitate Indigenous-led conversation and stewardship initiatives. In doing so, the IPCA Innovation Program will:
- Utilize the presence of space in Clayoquot Sound to reconnect people to the land, host programming, and facilitate IPCA research
- Develop and deliver reconciliation and conservation programming for the public
- Develop and deliver language and culture revitalization programs to Indigenous communities
- Facilitate research to inform Indigenous-led conservation and stewardship initiatives
- Design and implement Indigenous-led conservation and stewardship initiatives
