March 10, 2026

Discover the social, economic, and cultural values of Indigenous Hunter and Guardian programs through four Northern case studies.

Date: Wednesday, April 1st, 2025.

Time: 3:00 p.m. ET, 1:00 p.m. MT, noon PT.

Northern communities have long understood the importance of Indigenous Hunter and Guardian programs. However, the full range of benefits these programs provide is often overlooked by those making funding and policy decisions.

During this webinar, we will learn why these programs—already widely recognized for their cultural and environmental importance—also make strong economic sense and deserve long-term, sustainable funding. Drawing on a recent analysis of the social and economic benefits of four programs across the North, the webinar will reveal how public investment in full-time Hunter and Guardians programs addressses urgent community priorities while delivering measurable economic returns—in some cases, up to $5 for every $1 invested.

The webinar will also equip participants with clear, practical ways to communicate the value of these programs to government, funders, and partners and to advocate for sustained support.
