Tides Canada is proud to have supported ImpactOntario 2015 in partnership with MaRS, SVX, the Government of Ontario, and Deloitte on May 25 in Toronto. The conference brought world-changing Ontario ventures together with leading investors for a full day of learning, networking, and impact investment opportunities.

Tides Canada’s Elissa Beckett, Vice President, Development & Strategic Initiatives, participated on the panel “Unlocking Donor Potential: Impact Donor Advised Funds.” The panel discussed how philanthropy can and should be activated towards impact investments, and Elissa highlighted Tides Canada’s new impact donor advised fund (DAF), ChangeCapital.

ChangeCapital is part of our commitment to growing impact investing in Canada and creating a space for the private, public, and social sectors to work together to uncover new solutions to environmental and social challenges.

Tides Canada is also working with the MaRS Centre for Impact Investing and the Government of Ontario on a research project examining the impact DAF landscape in Canada and the US. This work will culminate in a research paper that will be released later this summer.
