Arctic Indigenous Fund

The Arctic Indigenous Fund (AIF) was established in 2018 to elevate the leadership, voices, and priorities of young Arctic Indigenous peoples in philanthropy. Supported by philanthropic partners, AIF engages Northerners in shaping how resources flow to their communities and directs funding to innovative, Indigenous-led initiatives across the Arctic.
AIF grounds all its work in cultural integrity, relational accountability, and collective wellbeing to advance sustainable development and self-determination. Since its first grant cycle, AIF has provided support across six countries—Alaska, Canada, Greenland, Sweden, Finland, and Norway. AIF has focused its funding on topics such as Youth, Language, and broader initiatives supporting Indigenous communities and their projects.
