Northern Youth Leadership (NYL) empowers northern youth through land-based learning, leadership development, cultural connection, and community engagement. Our mission is to provide on-the-land personal growth, leadership opportunities and connections that empower young people to create positive change. Our values center on safety, respect, inclusiveness, accountability, well-being, and youth connection. NYL’s programs are designed in partnership with communities, organizations, and schools through age-based approaches: engagement and education (ages 11–17), and empowerment and employment (ages 18–30).
NYL programming helps youth develop the inner and outer resources needed to overcome challenges, reach their full potential, and create positive change in their communities. Programming is FREE for all participants. NYL covers all camp-related costs including return airfare from their home community.
