ENRICH Project

The ENRICH – Environmental Noxiousness, Racial Inequities, and Community Health – Project works with Indigenous and Black Communities to address the impacts of environmental racism. Through research, public education, awareness campaigns and community engagement, the ENRICH project supports Black and Indigenous communities to come up with solutions to address environmental racism and climate change in their respective communities and contexts. By taking a community focused approach, ENRICH will improve social well-being, health outcomes, and environmental protections in communities.

ENRICH uses a multi-sectoral and collaborative interdisciplinary approach that brings together a range of community members, researchers, government, charitable organizations, and businesses. Our work is embedded in the belief that in order to address the root causes of environmental racism it is critical to bring together a range of disciplines and sectors. In many cases though, community members are left out of these conversations. ENRICH works to ensure community members are at the table and have the expertise and knowledge to not just participate but to lead in the creation of solutions to environmental racism and climate change.
