We Always Remember (WAR) is a collective of residential School Survivors and intergenerational Survivors that advocates for the long-term awareness of the legacy and impact of residential schools on generations of Indigenous peoples in the NWT. They seek to create a monument to honour the children who survived residential schools and those who never came home, and a resource centre for learning and reference for all people so We Always Remember. The collective also looks to establish further support for Survivors in the North and intend to support monuments or structures in every community as a physical reminder of the schools.
